Make a donation

Every euro you give reaches Kenya — because the people who move it take no salary.

The BG Netherlands Foundation runs entirely on volunteers. No management fees, no overhead between you and the children. A donation of any size goes directly to Ruiru, Malindi, and Nyamira.

From you to the children

Three steps. No stops in between.

The BG Netherlands Foundation exists to make this journey frictionless. Every euro you give is earmarked, transmitted, and deployed — without any salary or overhead between you and the programs.

01

You give — via Stripe, iDEAL, or bank transfer

Your payment goes to the BG Netherlands Foundation, ANBI-registered in the Netherlands. Dutch donors receive a tax receipt automatically. The Foundation has no paid staff — every board member is a volunteer.

02

Funds are transmitted monthly to Kenya

The Foundation transmits funds monthly to BG Kenya accounts, strictly earmarked for specific program outcomes — school fees, nutrition, healthcare, or housing. Nothing is pooled into a general overhead fund.

03

~100 Kenyan staff deploy it on the ground

BG Kenya’s professional team — teachers, social workers, house parents, healthcare staff — deliver the programs at Ruiru, Malindi, and Nyamira. These are people who know the children by name.

What your donation actually does

Specific amounts. Specific outcomes. No vague promises.

Every figure below is a verified current cost at a BG program. Nothing is approximate. Nothing is marketing language.

€10

One week of daily meals for one child at BG Nyamira

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Seven days. For Zawadi, who arrived at Nyamira at seven with her four-year-old brother Tobias. Or for one of the 750 children at the community school, for whom the BG meal is the most reliable food of the day.

€40

One full month of primary school sponsorship for one child

School fees, textbooks, uniform, meals, healthcare, accommodation, and daily social worker support. Everything Amani at BG Malindi needs for one month. This is also the amount David — who grew up at BG Ruiru — pays each month to sponsor a child he plans to visit in Malindi next year.

€150

One term of high school fees for a BG Ruiru student

Kevin is 12 and one year from his KCSE. He stays behind after school to help younger students with their reading. He wants to study law. €150 is one third of what it costs to keep him on track for a full year at BG Ruiru High School.

€500

The monthly running cost of one Lighthouse Village family home

Food, school fees, utilities, and social worker visits for one family home in Malindi. BG covers this for all 14 homes. The couple who live in it provide what money cannot: their time, their consistency, and a home that does not end when a child turns 18.

“I started with €25 a month. When I heard that BG’s Kenyan staff — not Dutch volunteers — deliver this work every day as their career, I understood why it works. I increased to €40 the next month.”

Other ways to give

Not every gift fits a payment link.

For larger, structured, or collective gifts, BG Netherlands provides the documentation and personal attention these arrangements deserve.

Large gift or legacy planning

Your payment goes to the BG Netherlands Foundation, ANBI-registered in the Netherlands. Dutch donors receive a tax receipt automatically. The Foundation has no paid staff — every board member is a volunteer.

Group or community giving
Church, school, or workplace collective? BG Netherlands sets up a single reference and provides a group tax receipt for all contributors. A collective campaign is one of the most effective ways to fund a specific child or program for a full year.
Prefer a more personal connection?

Child sponsorship links your monthly gift directly to one named child — with personal updates as they grow.

€40/month for a primary school child. €65 for a high school student at BG Ruiru. Everything included. Tax-deductible for Netherlands donors. Personal updates and photos twice a year. Many BG sponsorships run for years — long enough to follow a child from their first day of school to graduation.
