Alumni Storytellers

The most honest account of what BG does is told by the people who grew up inside it.

Former BG students are now doctors, nurses, engineers, teachers, bakers, bank employees, and entrepreneurs across Kenya. Around 75 are currently in university or vocational training. Some are now donors.

Visit options

Three ways to come to Kenya — each designed for a different purpose.

Group visit

Organized group trips covering all three BG Kenya locations

Meeting children and staff, seeing programs in action, often participating in practical activities. Can combine with safari and coastal time near Malindi. Contact info@blessedgeneration.nl for current dates.

Sponsor visit

Visit Kenya to meet the specific child you sponsor in person

Facilitated at the relevant location — Ruiru, Malindi, or Nyamira. Many sponsors describe this as one of the most significant experiences of their lives. Contact info@blessedgeneration.nl well in advance.

Safari + BG

Combine a BG field visit with Kenya's most remarkable landscapes

Ruiru is 30 minutes from Nairobi. Malindi is on the Indian Ocean. Nyamira is in the western highlands. BG can connect visitors with reputable Kenya travel partners. Guesthouses: €10/night including meals.

Where you will stay

BG has guesthouses at both Ruiru and Nyamira.

Every item is a verified current need at BG Ruiru. Sponsor one child and you cover all areas.

€10  / person / night

BG Ruiru (~30km from Nairobi) and BG Nyamira (western Kenya, near Kisii)

Both guesthouses place you inside the BG campus community — eating with staff, walking distance from the children and programs. Your stay fee contributes directly to BG operational costs.

Three daily meals — same food served to BG children and staff

Towels, linen, and mosquito net provided

Shared kitchen and common area access

On-campus — you wake up inside the BG community

Available at Ruiru (Central Kenya) and Nyamira (Western Kenya)

Help from the Netherlands

You do not have to travel to make a real difference.

No salaries. Every volunteer gives their time freely. Contact Sara van der Bijl at vrijwilligerszaken@blessedgeneration.nl to discuss what is currently needed.

Fundraising & events

Organizing fundraising events, charity campaigns, and awareness evenings

The annual benefiet concert and other events need people to plan, promote, and run them. The most immediate way to contribute from the Netherlands.

Presentations & awareness

Giving talks at congregations, schools, businesses, and civic groups

Explaining the work in Kenya, showing field video, building the donor base. One of the highest-impact volunteer roles BG Netherlands offers.
